n Lindsay Murdock, Editor and Founder

Lindsay Murdock, the founder and editor of Murdock Editing, found her calling working for writers after studying the publishing industry from the inside. After working for literary agencies as a reader and manuscript evaluator, she decided to start a company to work directly with authors to polish and prepare their manuscripts for the big time. The response was overwhelming.

“So many writers are really looking for a quality editor who knows something about the business. They don’t want the big company that’s going to ship their book off to some college student. They want a personal touch,” she said. “To me, helping new writers navigate the process and produce great books is just about the most rewarding thing in the world.”

Focused on providing quality service and editorial direction and attention, Murdock typically works with five authors in any given week from her Boston home.

Murdock received a BA in English Literature and a BS in Journalism from Boston University. She also studied Literature in an intensive tutorial program at St. Anne’s College at Oxford University before taking a job at a New York based agency. Over the course of her career she has edited and written countless articles as a reporter for several newspapers and evaluated, edited, and developed numerous novels, non-fiction manuscripts, and academic texts, both as a freelancer and while employed by literary agencies and multiple publishing houses. Currently, Lindsay Murdock also works as an editor for a non-fiction publisher in Massachusetts.
