All pricing is based on a number of factors, including:

• Level of writing/editing needed
• Length of the manuscript
• Timeline (rush, normal, or extended)

This page is designed to offer estimates only—your personal cost will be determined once the sample edit or sample evaluation is completed. Estimates below are calculated based on 2011 averages.

Please note that these prices only apply to first-time clients purchasing a single service. Discounts are provided for packaged services. Clients who have already had their manuscript edited or evaluated once and contract for additional services also receive a discount.

Manuscript Evaluation: Minimum $300. Estimate, based on 75,000 words: $900

Developmental Edit (no report—see Manuscript Evaluation page and Editorial Services and Consulting page for more information): Minimum $300. Estimate, based on 75,000 words: $800

Copy Editing: Minimum $150. Estimate, based on 75,000 words: $700

Proofreading: Minimum $100. Estimate, based on 75,000 words: $650

Query Letter Evaluation and Edit (please see the Editorial Services and Consulting page for more information): $100 (3 rounds)

Synopsis Evaluation and Edit (please see the Editorial Services and Consulting page for more information): $100 (2 rounds)

Other Services: Average $50 per hour rate.
